Airline pilot salary: airline by airline

What a first officer and a captain earn at 42 airlines, with rosters, allowances and the hiring situation. Every figure is dated and comes either from pilots' reports or from public sources (the airline, pilot unions, the press): for information only, always check the conditions of the posting.

How a pilot's pay is made up

  • A monthly base pay, rising with seniority (one scale per step) and markedly with the upgrade to captain.
  • Pay tied to activity: flying or duty hours, sectors, nights away and layover allowances. It varies from month to month and season to season.
  • Depending on the airline: a 13th month, profit sharing, loyalty bonus, pension, housing and schooling (common in the Middle East), staff travel.
  • Gross or net: figures are given as their source gives them. In the UAE and Qatar there is no income tax.
