Pilot recruitment at Emirates
Mainly recruits pilots who are already qualified and experienced on wide-bodies, with generally high flying-hour requirements for a first officer position on the A380, A350 or Boeing 777. Also has an ab initio cadet programme (Emirates Flight Training Academy, on its own campus in Dubai) for candidates with no experience.
Fleet: 277 aircraft as of 31 March 2026, according to Emirates Group, annual report 2025-26 (Fast Facts). Recruitment information is given as a guide only (public sources, subject to change over time): always check the current conditions on the airline's careers site.
History of Emirates
Founded in 1985 in Dubai, Emirates is today one of the largest long-haul carriers in the world, with a fleet made up exclusively of wide-bodies (A380, A350, Boeing 777). The airline relies on a worldwide network organised around its Dubai hub.

Some pilot selections include psychometric tests. ForAllPilots does not say whether Emirates uses them, or which ones: none of the series below is presented as Emirates's.
To practise anyway, the site offers several series of exercises, included with the ATPL subscription. They are practice exercises, not official tests: ForAllPilots is not affiliated with any airline or any test publisher, and the exact rules or scoring may differ.
- BQ psychometric tests: cubes, matrices and word problems
- CUT E / AON psychometric tests: deductive reasoning, landing and tunnel
- COMPASS psychometric tests: flying a flight display and orientation
- DLR psychometric tests: spatial orientation, vigilance and perception
