Pilot recruitment at Jet2.com
Mixed Boeing 737 / Airbus A321 fleet: depending on base and needs, pilots are trained on one family or the other. Jet2 recruits experienced pilots (captains, first officers and senior first officers). For newly qualified pilots, the Future Second Officer Programme requires a frozen ATPL issued in the United Kingdom, a multi-engine IR and a British Class 1 medical, and leads to a funded type rating as a Second Officer on Airbus or Boeing. For candidates with no experience, the fully funded Jet2FlightPath programme offers around 18 months of training with one of three partner training organisations, followed by joining as a Second Officer at one of 14 British bases; requirements include the full right to work in the United Kingdom and eligibility for a CAA Class 1 medical. Note that since Brexit, UK CAA licences and medicals (not EASA) are required. Jet2FlightPath applications are currently closed: check upcoming intakes and open positions on jet2careers.com.
Recruitment information is given as a guide only (public sources, subject to change over time): always check the current conditions on the airline's careers site.
History of Jet2.com
The airline grew out of Channel Express, a freight carrier bought by Philip Meeson in 1983, which moved into passenger flying from 2001. The Jet2.com brand launched in February 2003 with a first Leeds Bradford-Amsterdam flight on a Boeing 737-300. The network then spread to many British airports; the last Boeing 757s were retired in January 2025 as the airline took on a large Airbus A321neo order.

Preparing for psychometric tests before a selection
Some pilot selections include psychometric tests. ForAllPilots does not say whether Jet2.com uses them, or which ones: none of the series below is presented as Jet2.com's.
To practise anyway, the site offers several series of exercises, included with the ATPL subscription. They are practice exercises, not official tests: ForAllPilots is not affiliated with any airline or any test publisher, and the exact rules or scoring may differ.
- BQ psychometric tests: cubes, matrices and word problems
- CUT E / AON psychometric tests: deductive reasoning, landing and tunnel
- COMPASS psychometric tests: flying a flight display and orientation
- DLR psychometric tests: spatial orientation, vigilance and perception
