Pilot recruitment at Luxair
Boeing 737, De Havilland Q400 and Embraer E195-E2 fleet, with an English-speaking working environment. Luxair recruits qualified pilots depending on the period and also trains future pilots through its “Pilot Cadet Program” (Ab Initio pathway and sponsorship of student pilots already in training): check the conditions and open positions on Luxair's pilot page.
Recruitment information is given as a guide only (public sources, subject to change over time): always check the current conditions on the airline's careers site.
History of Luxair
Founded in 1961, Luxair received its first Boeing, a 737-200, in 1977. In 2023-2024 it launched a fleet renewal programme worth more than one billion euros: first Embraer E195-E2 delivered in 2025, first company-owned Boeing 737-8s arrived in 2026, and 737-10s on order, with the renewal planned to run until the mid-2030s. Luxair also holds 35.10% of Cargolux.
Preparing for psychometric tests before a selection
Some pilot selections include psychometric tests. ForAllPilots does not say whether Luxair uses them, or which ones: none of the series below is presented as Luxair's.
To practise anyway, the site offers several series of exercises, included with the ATPL subscription. They are practice exercises, not official tests: ForAllPilots is not affiliated with any airline or any test publisher, and the exact rules or scoring may differ.
- BQ psychometric tests: cubes, matrices and word problems
- CUT E / AON psychometric tests: deductive reasoning, landing and tunnel
- COMPASS psychometric tests: flying a flight display and orientation
- DLR psychometric tests: spatial orientation, vigilance and perception
