Pilot recruitment at ITA Airways
Recruits qualified pilots against a background of fleet growth since its creation. The Lufthansa group, a minority shareholder with 41% since January 2025, announced on 12 May 2026 that it was exercising its option to go up to 90% (completion expected in the first quarter of 2027): pathways to its own training programmes are possible.

History of ITA Airways
Created in 2021 to succeed the historic Alitalia (founded in 1946, in chronic financial difficulty until it ceased operating), ITA Airways joined the SkyTeam alliance. In January 2025, the Lufthansa group became a 41% minority shareholder; on 12 May 2026, it exercised its option to raise its stake to 90%, subject to regulatory approval (completion expected in the first quarter of 2027).
Preparing for psychometric tests before a selection
Some pilot selections include psychometric tests. ForAllPilots does not say whether ITA Airways uses them, or which ones: none of the series below is presented as ITA Airways's.
