Pilot recruitment
NetJets Europe is a separate entity from NetJets in the US (where pilots choose from more than 200 US bases). It flies everything from light jets to long-range aircraft (Phenom 300, Citation XLS and Latitude, Challenger 350/650, Global 6000) under a Portuguese AOC, so an EASA licence is the reference. Vacancies for European crews are listed under « NetJets Europe Crewmember Careers » on the NetJets careers site. Experience requirements and bases are not set out on the careers landing page: check current openings on the NetJets Europe careers site.
The NetJets selection, as candidates tell it
What candidates report on forums (Aeronet, Pilot Jobs Network) and what the employer publishes, summarised by ForAllPilots. It is not the official process: it changes from one campaign to the next, always check the posting.
Reliability of the reports : low
The stages
- Online pre-selection by a contractor: cut-e psychometric tests in one campaign, Kura assessment games more recently, and a remote interview.
- Interview panel (meteorology, technical, CRM, airmanship).
- Simulator with manual flying and decision-making, generally at Farnborough according to recent accounts.
- Asynchronous video interview described in 2024: three questions (knowledge of NetJets and motivation; what will change most compared with your current position; an improvised passenger announcement), with 1 min 30 of preparation, 1 min 30 to answer and two attempts.
The aptitude tests
- cut-e, then the game-based Kura platform, depending on the campaign.
The technical part
- Fuel basics, alternates, performance and instrument procedures.
- Commercial scenarios specific to business aviation.
Candidates' tips
- Prepare competency-based examples around safety and customer service.
- Show your ability to think quickly when faced with a passenger or an unexpected event.
- Video interview passenger announcement (2024): pressurisation failure over the Alps, deteriorating weather at destination and a client in a hurry; practise structuring a clear announcement in 90 seconds.
Our exercises to prepare
Give yourself every chance
A first officer selection usually combines a technical test (ATPL and aircraft knowledge), aptitude tests, a group exercise, an HR and technical interview, then a simulator check.
Revise the ATPL subjects that come up most in technical interviews: performance, meteorology, systems, procedures. Prepare concrete examples of crew teamwork for the interview.
If the posting mentions aptitude tests, practise the most common families of exercises: mental arithmetic, multitasking, orientation, reasoning.
