A320 ECAM Trainer
An online ECAM trainer to prepare an A320 type rating, a line check or an airline selection: the failure comes up, the warning sounds, and you handle it as on the flight deck, from MASTER WARN to STATUS.
Over 160 failures, every procedure written line by line from the FCOM, redrawn E/WD and SD screens, and overhead and pedestal panels to operate.

ECAM management, as on the line
You are the PM: you announce the failure title, confirm it on the SD page and the overhead ("ECAM CONFIRMED"), the PF orders "ECAM ACTIONS". You ask "CONFIRM?" before a guarded control, an ENG MASTER or a thrust lever, "CLEAR …?" before each CLR, then read the STATUS.
Three modes: guided (the area to touch flashes, every line is explained), free and exam, scored out of 100 on time and errors.
Complete failures, not just a title
Each failure shows what the ECAM shows: associated alerts, secondary failures (*HYD, *F/CTL…) cleared page by page, memos, LAND ASAP, the STATUS page with its INOP SYS. The SD pages follow the failure: lost electrical buses, hydraulic pressures, crossed-out spoilers, bleed valves.
Engines (fire, ENG FAIL with or without damage, OIL LO PR, N1 OVERLIMIT), electrical (EMER CONFIG, AC/DC BUS, DC EMER CONFIG), hydraulics (single and dual G+B, G+Y, B+Y), flight controls (ELAC, SEC, FAC, SLATS, STABILIZER JAM), pressurisation, fuel, navigation, anti-ice, gear and brakes.
The cockpit in photos
The cockpit is a photo of an A320: look up to the overhead, reach down to the pedestal. Panels open full size; thrust levers, ENG MASTERs, speed brake and flaps move, guarded buttons are held for half a second. The aural warnings (CRC, single chime, cavalry charge) were recorded on the flight deck.
Example: an engine fire in cruise
ENG 1 FIRE: CRC and MASTER WARN, LAND ASAP in red, the ENGINE page on the SD. After "ECAM CONFIRMED", the procedure runs line by line: THR LEVER 1 IDLE, ENG MASTER 1 OFF, ENG 1 FIRE P/B PUSH, AGENT 1 after a 10-second countdown, ATC NOTIFY, then AGENT 2 if the fire is still detected 30 seconds later.
Then come ENG 1 SHUT DOWN (ENG MODE SEL IGN, TCAS to TA, X BLEED shut, WING ANTI ICE OFF), the secondary failures *BLEED, *ELEC and *HYD reviewed page by page, and the STATUS with its INOP systems: GEN 1, ENG 1 BLEED, PACK 1, G ENG 1 PUMP.
Failures by system
AIR (bleed, packs, pressurisation, X BLEED), AUTO FLT (FAC 1+2, FCU 1+2), ELEC (generators, AC and DC buses, EMER CONFIG), ENG (fire, failure, oil, N1 OVERLIMIT), FIRE and SMOKE (APU, cargo holds, lavatory), F/CTL (ELAC, SEC, FAC, jammed flaps and slats, elevator, stabilizer), FUEL, HYD (pumps, reservoirs, overheats, dual failures), ICE & RAIN, gear and brakes, NAV, doors and pressurisation.
Dual failures come as they do on the line: one system first, the second once the first is handled, for instance HYD Y then B, ELAC 1 then ELAC 2.
Frequently asked questions
Who is the ECAM Trainer for?
Pilots on an A320 type rating, first officers and captains who want to review their procedures before a check, and airline selection candidates preparing a simulator assessment.
Are the procedures official?
They are written from the A320 FCOM, but the ECAM Trainer remains a training aid: the reference is always your airline's FCOM and QRH.
Does it work on tablet and phone?
Yes, on computer, iPad and phone. On a small screen the cockpit, the ECAM screens and the callouts stack; an iPad in landscape gives the layout closest to the flight deck.
How do I get access?
The ECAM Trainer is included in the Aircraft (Type Rating) subscription, in the A320's ECAM Trainer tab.
